Attached, please find a DEP public service announcement--Stay Out Stay Alive--currently being aired on television.
Secretary Kathleen McGinty sent along a sincere thanks with the following message, "The compelling accuracy of the water rescue scenes was made possible thanks to your efforts and assistance of the personnel and volunteers from the Lebanon County Emergency Management Agency, the Union Hose Fire Company of Annville, and First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon. We couldn't have done it without you."
Lebanon County is honored to have participated in providing crews to assist in this educational effort. For your information, the video shots were taken at the Fontana Quarry in South Annville Township with safety personnel from PA Lime/Pennsy Supply present. No electricity was flowing to pumps or motors under the water's surface. Please feel free to share the video with your colleagues.
Personnel from DEP's Bureau of Mine Safety are available to assist you with Stay Out Stay Alive programs for school and community groups, and provide informational publications and slideshows.. Contact Pottsville office at 570-621-3139 for more information.
